Pre-Market and Off-Market

What is the difference between an off market property and a pre market property?  Pre market means the property will go live on the agents website and public real estate marketing websites like Domain in a week or two. Off Market should be just that, not public on any website, but often the two terms are conflated.

 

At this time of year there are listings coming to agents that will not have time to run a three to four week marketing campaign along with the declutter, touch up and photography a home may need to sell prior to Christmas.  Some homes are simply not suited to an intense marketing campaign, or the branding of the agent, or are subject to privacy constraints, or have tricky building reports that need a resilient buyer.  There is a certain percentage of the market that trades quietly off market in any buying conditions.
